WHY I WROTE THIS BOOK?

In 2018 I found out that I was underpaid at my job. We are not talking about cents. I am talking tens of thousands of dollars. This experience would ring loudly in my ear for years to come.

Having always displayed a strong work ethic and consistent discipline, I managed to achieve some wins throughout my life and career. But guess what? I still had this “stuck” feeling. It still felt like there was a veil over me. It wasn’t until I truly chose myself, developed my voice, and learned how to talk about my wins that I truly started making impact.

The other part was dissecting some of the things that I was taught and how those things shaped me. This required me to unlearn some stuff and attach to a new way of thinking and self-discovery.

This book was written to help normalize black women taking the courage to share their stories, shine light on themselves, and present themselves as a high-quality package. Not using your voice costs you in a major way and this book will unpack why and how silence adds up rather quickly.
